This Sunday it’ll be a year since Neda Agha-Soltan was killed.

I… I’ve never been able to write on this, to put words together, or to work out how to relate to a person whose death made her a symbol throughout the world. I feel like I’m intruding on the very intimate tragedy of her loved ones, like I’m taking that from them if I take her as a symbol. At the same time, though, I’m unable to deny that her life, and her death, resonate profoundly. How to make sense of that? I don’t know if I’ll ever work that out. Or if I want to.

So, please check out the video above. It’s long, but it’s worth it, and it’s important.
